HELTON Mrs. Minnie Beatrice Sturgill Helton, 78, of Sparta, N.C., died July 23, 1999, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, Va. Born September 7, 1920 in Stratford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Eli and the late Ennice
Spurlin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James R. Sturgill, and beloved son, Jerry Ray Sturgill. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Archie G. Helton. She maintained her membership at Rush Creek Primitive
Baptist Church in Saltville, Va. Surviving are one sister: Mrs. Mable Halsey of Ennice, N.C.; two daughters and a son-in-law: Gearldean Sturgill Wright of Martinsville, Va., Sandra Gayle and Michael Adams of Mechanicsville, Va.; three
step-sons: Charles Helton, Paul Helton and Edward Helton; two step daughters; Myrtle Hart and Louella Kelly; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted Monday morning, July 26, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. at the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in the Stratford Community of Sparta. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the
funeral services to lie-in-state. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening at the GRANDVIEW MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME in Sparta.
