See Zenner Club for more information. Helen S. Zenner was the daughter of John E. Zenner son of Franz Zenner, Buffalo, New York, who arrived via ship "Roger" 1853-54 through Rotterdam and Liverpool to ?New York?. Transcripts for this ship have not been created to date. Franz Zenner's information included the Capt. of the four posted ship. (See personal family papers from Mayor of Wahlen Germany circa 1980's) Franz appears in the 1880 Census and later in Erie County, New York on Genessee Street. John E. Zenner was brought over with his father and mother from Wahlen, Prussia (Bavaria, Germany) and later was a printer in Washington State for the State of Washington and the printer of the Tenino News. John E. Zenner had 11 children. Franz Zenner had 11 children as well. The Washington State Library has additional information. Zenner Mailing List

Johann Zenner, b. 07MAY1851 in Wahlen, married Mary Wahlen 27NOV1873 in Buffalo NY. Johann later changed his name to John E. Zenner, moved to Washington State, settled in Tennino WA and published the local newspaper till his death in 1930. He and Mary had 11 children, all born in Buffalo, with marital status noted as of 1925: Mary, b.01MAY1875, unmarried; Joseph, b. 15APR1877, unmarried; August, b. 03MAR1879, d. 01JAN1901 in Buffalo, unmarried; Frank, b. 07MAR1880, d. 22JUL1880 in Buffalo; Peter Charles, b. 04APR1881, d. 13AUG1881 in Buffalo; Margaret Catherine, b. 23AUG1882, unmarried; William Frank, b. 09AUG1885, unmarried; Aloysius Edward, b. 30MAR1888, d. 10APR1888;Helen, b. 20JUN1889, married Frank Brug 27SEP1917 (yay); Robert, b. 30JUN1892, unmarried; Anna Cecilia, b. 30JUN1896, entered Convent, Order of St. Francis, 15AUG1915. Mary Wahlen, wife of John E. Zenner, died at Buffalo NY 06OCT1914.
