Archibald (Archible) Ruddell was an American Patriot who served his country during the Revolu
tionary War.
He served as a Private in Holman Rice's Company of the Foot in the Regiment of Guards command ed by Francis Taylor from April 1,1779 to May 31, 1779. (source:" Historical Register of Virginians in the Revolution 1775-1783",by John H. Gwathmay). This book is found in the Virginia section in the DAR Library, Wshington,D.C. Also he is referenced in VA Public Claims,Vol. III,P. 841. Although his given name was Archibald, he signed his name "Archible".
