t he came to Canada as a soldier givenhisditname ofDeslauriers. He married Marie-Marguerite Granger abt1687,d/oLaurentGranger and Marie Landry. In 701, NicolasandMarie-Margueritemoved toPort-Royal, where their son Jean was bornonFebruary 10, 1709.He marriedIsabelle Breau abt 1730. She was thed/oPierre Breau and AnneLeBlanc. Withhis spouse, Jean settledatTerre-Rouge, on thePetitcoudiac River, withinthe limits of what isnowthe city of Moncton.This family escaped theDeportation by goingtoCocagne. When theAcadians signed theirsubmission/allegiance in 1759and1760, theyreturned to the Petitcodiac.Members of this familywereimprisoned atFort Beauséjour in 1763.
Placide Gaudet claims that Nicolas and Jeanwerebrothers.However,according to Stephen White , there was nomarriagebetweenJeanusgrandchildren or g-grandchildren and thedescendantsofNicolas.Consequently no dispensation for family members toprovideproofofGaddetus claim.
