ried at Opelousas June 19,1787Marguerite-LouiseBoutindaughter of Paul Boutin and UrsuleGuidry.Michel-Prosperesettled on apiece of property on Bayou Queue deTortueoriginally ownedby Louis andJoseph Latiolais. Located about threemileswest of presentday Morse,Louisiana and about three miles east fromwhereBayou Queue deTortueempties into the Mermentau. It is believedthere wasa school onthe oldplace and was known as Leger Point. But itlost itsidentityafter theschool was consolidated with Morse, EvangelineandRiversideschools.Michel-Prospere raised his family there andhasseveraldescendents inAcadia and Vermilion Parish.
