Individual:
1655: Benadam, fourth child and second son of Captain John Gallup, Jr., was born at Stonington, Connecticut. While his brothers John and William seem to have been very prominently identified with public affairs, political and military)', there is no evidence that he was other than an industrious and prosperous farmer. With his wife he was a member of the Congregational Church in Stonington, and no doubt contributed as much to the establishment of good society and education as his more public-spirited brothers.
1737, August 2: His ample estate at the time of his death, which approximated $3,000, speaks well for his enterprise in the early history of the colony. His wife survived him twenty-four years,
living to the good old age of 93. His son, born Oct. 26. IT16, became a very distinguished man in
Groton, and a brave colonel in the War of the Revolution. He was so prominently identified with the affairs of Groton, that lie held at least seventeen different public offices. His numerous posterity has a record, public and private, not surpassed by any in New London County.

1682: Benadam Gallup married Esther Prentice at Stonington, Connecticut. Children, born at Stonington: 1) Hannah (see below); 2) Esther, born November 1, 1685; 3) Thomas, born 1687; 4) Mary "Mercy" (see below); 5) Benadam, Jr. (see below); 6) Joseph, born September 27, 1695; 7) Margaret (see below) and 8) Lucy, born July 12, 1701; died January 7, 1793.
Our purpose being to confine ourselves to "our line " we must forbear to write to any extent of others, however much we may be tempted to do so. Suffice it to say that Benadam's family consisted of his wife and eleven children. (Research of William R. Randall, family researcher)
Marriage Note: Benedam Gallup married Esther Prentice.
