Dear Sir,

I am researching the history of my family, the Woodsons, and am interested in finding information about a gentleman
named David Meade Woodson, Jr. who owned a fruit farm in Grants Pass and died May 2, 1910. He did not own the
farm for long, my records indicate just a couple years. He was from Frankfort, Kentucky, and during his career he
was involved in mapping public lands in Washington and the northwest. My address is above. I am looking for
copies of any records you may have such as a death notice, deed to the land he owned, even a marriage notice,
although I do not know the name of the woman he met while living there. He is my great great grandfather, and a
decendant of the Virginia Woodsons, of Jamestown, one of the oldest and most distinguished families in the U.S.
Please let me know the copying and research costs and I will mail you a check.

Sincerely,

Judith A Martin

He was an expert civil engineer, served several terms as city engineer of Frankfort, and county surveryo of Franklin County. He was twice married; first, on November 29, 1871 to Nannie Adams who was born in 1848, in Saline County, MO, and died in Frankfort, KY, April, 9, 1900. He was married, second, to____________.

He was a democrat, and attended the Christian Church of whch he was a faithful member. In 1908 he went west and settled at Grant's Pass, Oregon, and engaged in fruit growing. A deed from 7/3/1908 located at the Josephine County Clerk's Office shows that David M. Woodson bought a parcel of land from a John Burt in 1908. About the middle of April, 1910, he was in his vineyard, planting some grape vines, when he suddenly became very ill and died on May 2, 1910.
