John Beals I was married to Mary Clayton, dau of William Clayton Sr and his
wife, Prudence, shortly after 1-1682 at Nothingham Monthly Meeting, Chester
Co., PA.
"John Beals data:"
3,13,1706--Mary Bales (Beal) appointed overseer of Nottingham Monthly
Meeting.
John I and Mary (Clayton) Beals died at Nottingham, Chester Co., Pa. John
died in Dec 1726, and since his wife Mary Beals is not named in his will,
dated 1726, she apparently died sometime prior to the date of his will.
John and Mary (Clayton) Beals' children were born and married at Nottingham
Chester Co., and remained there until sometime after the death of their
parents.

My ancestor, John Beals, came to America in about 1765, and it is said tha
he came with John Fenwick and settled in Salem, NJ. In 1677 he was in Cheste
Co., PA and in 1682, married Mary Clayton, dau of William Clayton, Sr. John
and Mary settled in the lower part of Aston in what is now Delaware Co., PA.
the family, after sometime, removed to Nottingham, where John died in 1726.
John and Mary were members of the Society of Friends.
