A journey through time with the Cannon Harris family. This journey began with 3 tenacious and determined cousins who were bound to find the source for the name given an uncle, Cannon. The 3, C. H. Stubblefield, Dub Tanner and James Harris felt that no one, in their right minds, would name a child Cannon without just cause and began the search for the source. Finally after many miles, a number of years and lots of frustration, the source was located - Cannon Harris - a great grandfather who had died in the Civil War in a prisoner of war facility in Alton, Illinois. The search also included a determined search to weed out any horsethieves or yankee dawgs hiding in the loins of the family tree. To date no horsethieves have been located and only one Yankee Dawg (thank goodness he was related by marriage) was found.
