Notes
Individual:
BIOGRAPHY: In June1846 the family left Oswego NY by schooner for Wheatland, Wisconsin. Ther
e is a letter from Mary Anne Dole describing the experience in detail.
When the parents died, the children returned to Oswego, where they were cared for b y relatives named Johnson. Eugene, who was the youngest, apparently had the hardest time adjusting. He enlisted in the Civil War, and was killed "somewhere in Mississippi." The 110th New York
Volunteers, in which regiment Sarah Cooper's future husband served as a Lieutenant-Colonel , was an Oswego outfit, and served in Misssissippi. I wonder if that was Eugene's regiment - probably was.
There is mention in the records of a Mrs. Dole, grandmother, living in the house wi th the Johnsons for a short time. That would have been Abigail Pierce, born 1788, and about 70 years old when the children came back to Oswego.

Marriage:
possibly m in Oswego, NY
