Notes 
Individual:
In the name of God Amen I John Adams being of sound sense and memory, but weak in body by a long complaint & calling to mind that it is appointed for men to die & not knowing but my worldly goods may go to them not deserving therefore I do ordain & make this my last Will & Testament, in manner & form following (to wit), First. I give & bequeath my soul to God who gave it to me hoping though the merits of a crusified Saviour at the last day he will raise both soul & body to the mansions of Glory in peace for ever. In the next place I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Francis Adams all that tract of land that lies below me adjoining Samuel Swift's land by computation one hundred acres. Secondly I give and bequeath to my son Square Adams fifty acres of land lying and situated as follows (to wit) beginning at a cucumber tree & runs South to a white oak, thence West to a sugar tree thence north to Gum Branch, thence East up said Branch to the first fork of said branch that Square now lives on then up said fork of branch to the begining. In the next place I give and bequeath to my beloved son Talton. All that tract of land situated as follows to wit, begining at a log Bridge near Square and runs north with the meanders of the County road as it now is to Jacob Greens line thence West with said line to where it intersects with Franks line then South to Gem branch then up said branch to the forks thence up the right hand fork to the begining.

In the next place I give & bequeath unto my beloved son Allen all that tract of land that lies situated as follows, to wit, begining at a sugar tree stump & Runs North where & with an old cross fence used to stand thence east to a poplar which is my old corner, thence south to a hickory thence West with the old -l-i-n-e-d line to where it intersects with Square's land then north to the begining -- In the next place I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Ester all that lot of land situated as follows, to wit begining at a cucumber tree Square's Corner. & runs down the branch to the County road thence with the meanders of the road to where it intersects with Jacob Greens line then East to where it intersects with Allens line then south with Allens line to the begining. To include my present dwelling to remain in her full possession during her widowhood or lifetime, & at the expectation of either I give & bequeath the said lot to my son Alfred forever. In the next place I give & bequeath to my beloved daughter Rachel one sorrel horse by the name of Dick. In the next place I give & bequeath all my farming tools carpenters tools & smith tools to my wife for the express purpose of raising my children during her lifetime with one rifle gun or during her widowhood and after that I give the same to my son Alfred forever. In the next place I give & bequeath unto my wife Ester one mare by the name of Fly. In the next place I give & bequeath unto my wife Ester & daughters Rachal, Marthew & Elizabeth to be divided as equal shares as they come of age all my cattle sheep hogs, household furniture and all their appurtenances. In the next place I ordain that my executor out of my property pay all my just debts, before my property is divided. And this day I do establish this my last Will & Testament revoking all other will or wills by me made and for the true & faithful peformance of this my will I do make & ordain my trusty friend & wife Ester Adams & son Frank Adams as executors to this my last Will & Testament signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us this 20th day of June in the year of our lord 1823.
