Fact 1
Charley was born in Morgan, Ellis Co., TX. He was a cotton farmer before the war ( WW II). During the war he spent a year in Hawaii with the Pacific Naval Air Base Contractors. Upon returning to the US in 1943 he was offered a job in Port Hueneme at the Construction Battalion Center where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He transferred to Point Mugu Naval Air Station and retired from there with the Civil Service in 1969.
He died of a heart attack 14 May 1989 in Oxnard, CA and is buried in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo, CA.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
