Individual:
We know that Ambrose Chandler lived in Franklin Co., Ga. because he married there. It is not known at what time he moved to Carroll County, Ga. but it was after 1843. He is found on the 1840 Franklin Co., Ga. census.
Military Records(from letter from A. D. chandler): 1808-1829, P. 150 Ambrose was Lt. in Franklin County, Ga. June 1, 1825 to July 20, 1829.

1870 Carroll Co., Ga. census: Jerusha Chandler age 68, living with son-in-law and daughter Hiram King and Charity M.
1880 Carroll Co., Ga. census: Jeursha Chandler, age 76, mother-in-law living with T.Hiram King and Charity. Also living in same house is Matilda Brown, female age 81 aunt to Charity. Matilda born in N.C. Father born in VA., mother born in NC. This Matilda is Richard's Chandler's daughter who has had three husbands (Carter, Smith, and Brown).
Indian War Records: Widow's pension claimant Jerusha Chandler age 94, widow of Ambrose Chandler, P.O. Box Carrollton, Carroll Co., Ga. alleged that Ambrose was a Private in Capt. Cleveland's Company and that he voluntered to assist in the removal of the Cherokee Indians. Jerusha's file submited November 16, 1884 and was rejected Jan. 14, 1885. Notified of rejection, Claimant Jerusha Chandler
having died before completing claim, Jan. 8, 1885. Widow's service pension #3551 states that Ambrose died April 9, 1868, and that he was about 60 years of age. Judge of Carroll County, Ga. states that Jerusha Chandler appeared before him and stated that her husband served in the Cherokee Indian War and enlisted at Franklin Co. Ga. Carnesville under the name Ambrose Chandler as a Private in Company command by Capt. Wm. Cleaveland in regiment of Ga., Militia. commanded by Col. Turk.. She thinks on or about 15 of May 1838 for term of three months and was discharged at New Town; she thinks on 15 Sept. 1838. At the time of entering the service claimed her said husband was 20 or 25 years of age, five feet 11 inches with dark gray eyes, black hair, dark complexion, occupation a farmer. I don't know what county he was born in but he was born in North Carolina. After leaving the service he resided at Franklin Co., Ga 15 years and at Carroll Co., Ga. 23 years. She married him 4 May 1827 at Franklin Co., Ga. by Charles Jenkins, JP, under the name Jerusha White. Stated that she has not been married previously, that her said husband died at Carrollton on 9 April 1868. She thinks he was about 60 years of age at that time.
Note on Claim: " Widow Jerusha Chandler has gone to the realm of the far away land no devil can ever molest her, with a crown on her head and a harp in her hand. God bless her she is dead," Carrollton Oct. 26, 1894

Merrell, Atty: If the above named claiment has gone to heaven from which is said no citizen of the far better land, she no longer cares for Uncle Sam's gold so it only remains for her friends to be told that her claim is rejected and filed with the Interior Bureau of Pensions, Washington, D.C. Oct. 20, 1894
Gentlemen, the above named claimant's family and friends should be advised that her husband's name could not be found on the rolls of Captain Cleveland's Company and that no further action can be taken until the correct service of Ambrose Chandler can be furnished.Record of marriage in Franklin County Probate Office.
