He was the American forbearer of this family, they came to America in 1851,
with his bride to be, Henriette Fredrick. They Arrived in Milwaukee, where he
worked on an railroad, and she worked at a hotel, until they earned enough
money to marry. They were married in 1853, in Milwaukee, They spent their
honeymoon, making a trip to Reedsville, on foot. Once in Reedsville he aquired
goverment land,in which to farm on. It is now known as the John Rosin Farm
3/4 mile northeast of Reedsville.
Of the family, native of Germany, he was the first to migrate to America. Three
later, followed, his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
The familys larder was stocked, mostly with wild meat, for he became a talented
hunter, and fisherman. It is recalled by his children, that in 1876 he killed a
bear of over 500 lbs. He needed to use a team of oxen, in which to carry it home.
