Individual:
served in Civil War: 1st Lt. 5th US Cavalry, KY. Served under his brother-in-law, Daniel Ble
vins, who was also the company chaplain. Daniel Blevins married Andrew J.'s sister Nancy in 1847. She and her sister Elizabeth and their brothers Jesse and Andrew were children of Edmund Osburn. Edmund's second wife, Perlina Blevins was a sister to Daniel. This made her a sister-in-law as well as a stepmother to Nancy.
