Individual:
Information states Stephen was a CSA soldier. No proof or information has yet been found. But we do have proff of Stephen H from Screven County in the 54th regiment.
1860 Census shows Stephen in the Scarboro PO in one record, Another states he was living as a farm Laborer in the home of Littleton Bragg. So this would assume Maybe his middle name was not Michael after all. See Below, source ancestry.com

Recorded in the 1860 Census, Stephen living in the same household as Littleton Bragg and his wife Margaret Sasser Bragg. Son Howell. #368. Neighbors were James Parker SR. and his wife Mary #367, Neighbor #369 was Dempsey Peel ans Eleanor. Then the Sassers in the next 5 households.
I do show a Stephen H Thompson in the Company D 54th Regiment Screven County Ga and also show him buried at Rose Hill cemetery in Bibb County stone shows Stephen but military records show a Stephen H so I'm not sure if there is any connection at this time. Stephen H enlisted in April 1862. Shows his death as 10-08-1864 acoording to records. Cousin Ronnie visited the grave in Macon and there does not show a death date date or a middle inital.
