There has also been found deed's name Susannah as the
wife of Richard Barnett in Spartanburg, SC, they went to Giles Co., TN between 1814/1820 where she is recorded relinquishing her dower on land Richard Barnett sold
in Spartenburg, Richard died before 1824, when Susannah is said to be a
widow selling land in Spartanburg where she is listed on the 1830 census.
" A copy of this letter sent by a Barnett researcher in MS, the
originals were in the possession of a lady in NC.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
I take one more opportunity of informing you that we are all well at this
time with the ception of myself, I am very feeble and low and has been for a
long time., what it is that ails me
I cannot tell you I am so nigh helpless that I can neither get up or down nor
walk about the house nor yard only as Betty helps me and goes about with me
