Daniel removed to Groton Mass. with his parents, and sold his real estate there in 1707/8 where he is called carpenter. On April 14, 1714, "Jabez Allen of killingly conveys to Daniel Cady Sen., living north of ye town of Canterbury for L104 (lbs.) a tract of 600 acres adjoining Tatnick Hill, same farm adjoining that of Richard Adams". Daniel Cady settled on this farm with his large family, and there he spent his days in peace and prosperity. He represented the town of Canterbury in the Connecticut General Assembly in 1717. In 1724 he gave land for a burying place, which now forms the original part of the Brooklyn cemetery and where he is buried with many of his kindred. On Jan. 14, 1736/7 papers were signed for portions received from the estate of Daniel Cady, deceased, by his sons-in-law, Samuel Spalding and Isaac Holmes, but to which of the daughters of Daniel Cady respectively married, is not stated, viz.: Rachel or Eunice. Samuel Spalding, who married either Rachel or Eunice, was the son of Samuel 3, John 2, Edward 1, b. Chelmsford, Mass. June 4, 1699, removed with his paarents in 1706 to Canterbury CT. In 1726 he shared in the division of his father's estate as elder son, receiving L156-17-6. Had a son Uriah and probably other children. Little is known of him further.
