Arthur was born in Ohio or New Jersey. July 3, 1842, marriage record li sts Arthur M. (Monfort?) Morgan marriage to Rebecca Mulford Morgan. Older brother Peter was 1st husband of Rebecca. (Stepson Aaron's parents are listed as Peter and Rebecca Morgan, and Monfort as stepfather on his marriage record.)
Article in Shelby County newspaper of Oct 13, 1876, states "Monfort Mor gan, who four years ago moved from Perry Township to Harvey County Kansas, is back on a visit." This dates move to Kansas to join 2 sons (Peter and Elbert) at approximately 1872. Another obit specifies move to Kansas as 1871. Monfort died and is buried in Sedgwick, Kansas, with 6 of his children.
Possible date of birth Oct 5, 1819
All children except Himnious and Elbert found in 1860 Salem Township, S helby County, Ohio Census, page 32, lot 242, family 228. Other Mulford families found in same census. 1870 Perry Township census lists 4 still at home (Himnious same dates as Philetus in 1860) plus Elizabeth Mulford, age 80.)
