Tate-Pruett and allied families
This is a compiliation of data I have accumulated from books ("Tate and Allied familis of the South" by Ethyl Updyke (now deceased), from "Ancestral Echoes" by Julain Pruett and Frances Limozaine,data collected by other family members (Julia White, Elizabeth Sinclair, Carlton data, Mathis data, Bowers and related families data. It is meant for a lead in your own research; some lines have been proved and membership in DAR,SAR, Colonial Dames, CAR, etc obtained. I want to especially thank Alfred W. Tate, the historian for many years of our Tate family; without his support, much of this work would not have been done. At present he has just past his 90th birthday, with excellent health and memory. Most of our kinsmen are from the southern states, but more recent generations are throughout the country.
