This gedcom is a work in progress for the purpose of researching the genealogy and history of the Swigart - Esquer, and Hanson - Van Mourik families and related lines. Related families include Mason, Young, Waite, Miller, Peterson, Ellis, Else, Elliott, Esquer, Otero, Amarillas, De Toledo, Pareda, Pablos, Blom, Benson, Geefhuysen, Versteeg, Skogrand, Oddam. We are interested in all matters relating to the origins, ancestry and history of these people. This is not a 'scholars' gedcom. It is a collation. I urge you to be skeptical. I am. The 'Swigart' gedcom has a list of references attached but it is not definitive. Information in the gedcom comes from innumerable sources with my father's original research as the base. I have been exchanging gedcoms with Swigart/Schweickhardt/Swigert/Swikert/Sweigart/Swiggart/etc and other relatives (Young, Mason, Ellis, Esquer, Else, Miller, Peterson, etc.) and descendants for some time and have been assimilating the information (several dozen gedcoms) and have accumulated about 8200 persons) as I have proceeded. In retrospect, the process I selected, assimilate and merge or append, is sloppy and I regret not having taken better notes as I merged the files so that I could return to original contributors or better define and verify source material. While it has allowed me to gather large amounts of data on behalf of many Swigart (and related) descendants and sparing them having to gather the same base data, it also means that the information I have gathered is in varying degrees of accuracy and much without verification. The record is muddier than I would like. A wide net catches more than fish. This ged record is not without major errors; certain to contain inaccuracies and errors. I felt obligated to gather and include the information because in my research activities I came across it and it could save others significant leg work. There was so little available when I began that I felt any clue to ancestry could be valuable to someone at some time. I believe the general structure and pattern of ancestry is true. The devil is in the detail... dates and places. In some cases I have two distinct sets of birthdates and deathdates for the same individual. The information is a collection of data from numerous sources and certainly contains errors. Please email me or post any corrections or additions that you believe are necessary. Some of the gene lines in the ged are not merged or connected internally but are appended 'free-standing.' Schweickhardt, Sweigert, Sweigart, Swikert, Swiggart, etc. are not connected to Swigart. I have assimilated them because I am anticipating a time in which they can be linked.
