In Clifton Park (aka Halfmoon) - Richard Peters settled north of Vischer's ferry on the H.J
. Miller place - his sons were Samuel and William. he was one of the early founders of the Old Clifton Park church.
Also settling here was Solomon Waite who lived near Jonesville. (From the History of Saratog a Co., NY)
Richard of Halfmoon served in Revolutionary War, member of Van Schoonhowen's Regiment of Alba ny, NY county militia. Return of bounty paid for raising levies 1782-1782 dated New Town 8 Jan 1783; paid bounty 9 Apr 1781 23pounds. National DAR #313273 add 327
1790 Census lists a Richard Peters in Halfmoon, this listed as Albany county at the time (Sar atoga formed the following year). Lists 3 males including head over age of 16 (Richard Sr., Samuel & Richard); two under age 16 (William & ?); and three females (Mary, Elizabeth, Jerusha & Amy were are all possibilities) if this is Richard (1740-1811).
