Some of the surnames associated with the following surnames are of the wifes of the direct surnames and are also being researched. The ELWES/ELVES came from St. Leonard’s Parish, Shoreditch, Middlesex, England – London area. They arrived in the port of New York in 1819 and came directly to Georgina, Ontario, Canada. Some of the ELWES/ELVES family members stayed in the Georgina area and others moved on to Roseneath, Rapid City , and Minnedosa areas in Manitoba, Canada about 1887. Then before 1932, some of the families when to Northern Saskatchewan. My SHEPHERDs emigrated from Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland in 1928. The four (4) brothers landed in Quebec City on two different dates – June 30 and September 21, 1928. The first to arrive in Canada were Richard and Norman. In that same September, Henry and Wesley followed. They all went to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is not known what happened to Norman, Henry and Wesley from there. Surnames directly related to our SHEPHERD lines are: Terry, Wilson, Currough, Virgin, Moore, Plewman, Domeny, Hill, Anderson, Burr, Davis, Neel/Neil, and Bowden. The SHANNONs are my biggest headach of lately. The only information I have on this line, is the ancestor came from the U.S.A. and was supposedly born in Illinios and then emigrated to Canada around 1896. Surnames directly related to our SHANNONs lines are: Tedford, McElwain/McElwaine/McIlwain, Parker, Ross, Maltimer/Mortimer, Bates, Lake, Nesbitt, Trout, Emerson, Mash, and Woodhouse.
