When Jesse, Jr., became old enough to think of getting married his mothe r made him a flax suit of clothes. Presenting it to him, she said: "Now , Jesse, take this suit, go back to Virginia and marry Betsy Stone. She i s a smart girl and will make you a good wife." "Thank you ,Mother," he sa id, as he received the suit. Like Jacob of old, he went, married Betsy, a nd came back to Globe to live. Betsy was a sister to Rachel.
"Jesse Moore, Jr., was the son of the first Moores to settle in Glob etow nship, Caldwell Co., NC. In fact he named a field that he had cleared, ro und in shape, which reminded him of a Globe, so he called it his Globe fi eld. Later on we had a Globe Valley, Globe Post Office, Globe store, Glob e Church, and a Globe Academy.
Jesse Moore Jr., was a man who believed in justice and right. He ha da pl ace for everything and tried to keep everything in its place. When he set tled on the banks of the John's River, he worked when the sun was high an d when the sun was low. He was short on cleared land ,so he began a cemet ery in his own yard, as most of the early settle rsburied their dead thei r own land.
John was the first to be buried in his yard, since he was bitten b y arat tlesnake and died soon after."
The Moore and Estes Families.
Signed a petition on April 25, 1807 for a road from the upper Settlemen t on Wilsons Creek on to the globe.

Dear Parents - I guess this letter will read like Daniels but it is fro m your other son. I guess these Stone girls are magic. I am sure Betsy is . We are going to get married next week and then I am bringing her home . I hope you and Daniel will help me build a cabin somewhere else. Rache l and Betsy had this all planned out cause she told Betsy we could stay w ith them until our place is built. Your devoted son Jesse Junior. March 3 , 1788
