In Thomas's Obituary it states: His parents came to Goldsberry,
Missouri when he
was eight years old. His father died when he was 11 years old and his mother
died in 1893.  At the age of 15 he joined the Union Army on August 6, 1864,
enlisting as a private in Company K 42nd Regiment, Missouri Infantry.  On April
23, 1871 he was married to Susan R. Lile.  To this union were born eleven sons
and one daughter, all living save one James H. who died fourteen months ago.
Funeral at Adventist church northwest of Goldsberry and burial near the church.
