912. Martin "La Briere" BENOIT was born in 1643 in France. He died after 1714. Martin arrived in Acadie about 1671.
Marie was probably one of the five women who arrived in Port Royal in 1671 from Rochefort, France, as wives for the colonists.
Martin and his family lived at Port Royal until 1708. They are listed in the census of 1678 and in that of 1686, at Port Royal. In
1708 they settled in the parish of L'Assomption, at Pisiguit, and are listed there in the 1714 census. Martin and Marie had ten
children, all born at Port Royal. He was married to Marie CHAUSSEGROS in 1672 in Acadie, Canada.
