1900 Barre Census indicates birth as "12/1849" Certificate # 54515. Sam died at the home of his daughter Mrs Henry Potter in Clarendon. WT DIV 621 Sam lived in Michigan for four unknown years, possibly around 1855 when there were no Rosenbrooks listed on the Orleans County census. Headstone states death was 1916 Listed in the 1894 OrleansCounty Register as a laborer in Barre Center with wife Jennie.1894 Orleans County registerHugh Boyd who lived next door to Sam's father, Henry Rosenbrook,sold his home and property to Sam and Jennie Rosenbrook for $1with the following conditions: "... subject to the use andoccupancy of [the land] by [Hugh Boyd]during his life and theessence of the consideration for this deed is that [Sam andJennie Rosenbrook]may enter into joint occupancy...and cultivatethe same and they agree to pay all taxes assessed thereon andkeep said premises in good condition and the buildings insuredin some responsible insurance company and also...maintainsupport and provide for the comfort of [Hugh Boyd]during hislife, and upon his death provide for his funeral expenses anddecent burial, and [Hugh Boyd] reserves during his life the solecontrol of the house and use of the garden on the eighteen acresfirst above described." Three parcels were included in thetransaction 18 acres,25 acres, and 2 acres. The land was sold in1889 by Hugh Boyd and Sam & Jennie Rosenbrook to Thomas andCharles Staines.book 103 page 399 1888 Marriage: Jennie and Sam were single and living with their parents on the 1875 census. They are also listed as married with a daughter on the 1880 census. The 1900 census indicates that they were married 20 years. The 1910 census states they were married 33 years.
