William was the third child of Andrew Moore and Amanda Benham."Dad's heros were: Jack Dempsey, The heavyweight championfighter, Charles Lindberg, the first Pilot to solo the Atlanticto Paris, comedian Jimmie Durante, Henry Ford and the Model Tand his favourite radio program, Amos and Andy. His Gold teethwere his trademark. While Harnessing a four-horse hitch, hisdriving horse (a tempermental Mare) kicked dad in the mouth! Itwas the highlight of Douglas and Jack Mutton's childhood.Douglas and I have heard it so often we think we were there too.Dad loved to square dance. He knew all the old fiddle tunes: TheDevil's Dream, Crooked Stovepipe and Wind that Shakes theBarley. He ued to come to Toronto for St Patrick's Day to attendthe Irish concert at the Civic Centre.
