Henry arrived in the port of New York on June 30, 1834 on theBrig Princess Royal which departed from London. Others on boardthat same Ship were his future bride Caroline Pike, her sistersEleanor, Mary Jane and Louisa, brother Samuel, nephew GeorgePike and parents George and Jane Pike. Henry resided in NY restof his Life with the possible exception of a couple years whenhe and his sons may have gone to Michigan after the death of hiswife Caroline. Henry and his family lived in Clarendon in 1840.In 1853, Henry bought 50+ acres on Rock St.(Currently known asE. Lee Rd) in Barre, from Dan H.Rice for eight hundred and sixtydollars, with an agreement to split 50/50 "the fruit of allgrafted apples that may grow on said premises the next season"In 1867 Henry bought land across the road where a "pages patent"lime kiln was built. Henry and at least two sons, William andSamuel, operated the lime kiln from the late 1860's until 1882when he was seventy-four years old. He then sold it to theStaines family in 1882who operated it until 1905. The value ofHenry's real estate was $1200 in 1860 and his personal estatewas also valued at $1200 dollars.The value of Henry's realestate was two thousand dollars in 1870 and his personal estatewas valued at four hundred dollars. Henry's Estate was valued at$2000 at the time of his death in 1885. TheMeeting minutes state that Henry payed $5 at a meeting tobenefit the cemetery where his first wife and his grandchildrenwere buried and where he would ultimately be buried as well.
