The following information received on April 26, 1998 from Arthur C Dennis,Great Grandson of Charles Timothy Dennis. He was living at 23 Simmons St,, Newport, RI, 02840.
Charles was 23 and Mary Elizabeth was 14 when they married. Charles was a cook from 1881-1905.
In 1890 he was hired by Gardiner B Reynolds as a cook on the Tug Aquidneck. This Tug operated in the Newport area for about 10 years. In 1910 Charles was employed as a carpet layer and worked in that capacity until 1915. Between 1915 and 1918 he was employed at the Naval Torpedo Station in Newport.
After his employ at the Torpedo Station he worked for the New England Steam Ship Company.

according to Jesse Dennis, 2000, the Dennis family ( grown brothers and sisters) all lived very near each other. Jesse remembers as a young boy running from one house to the other...Charles lived in what was a Pink and Black house in 2000. Across the street or alley on the front corner lived Aunt Clara, and a few houses behing her lived Aunt Minnie.
