Individual:
Jacob established his homestead at the point where Tumbling Run forks about a mile west of the present community of Fisher's Hill, Virginia. On 4 September 1750 Jacob applied for a warrant to have his
improved land surveyed. The survey for 260 acres was completed 14 October 1751 but for some reason Jacob did not receive the deed for his grant until 26 Feb 1761, (Northern Neck Grants, Book K, Page 219). On 2 March 1767, Jacob Funkhouser and his wife, Francis, conveyed all their land to his son, Jacob Funkhouser Jr.

Jacob Funkhouser, who with wife "Frainey" deeded land to Joseph Pugh in 1777 , was, son of Jacob Funkhouser (Fankhauser) Sr. who died about 1771. It was Jacob Sr. who obtained the 260 acre tract in 1761 (surveyed in 1750) and in 1767 deeded it to his son Jacob Jr. Jacob Jr. was born about 1735/36, married Franey Evick (widow) in 1757 and lived on the homestead near Fishers Hill, first settled by his father. He wrote a will in Jan. 1804 and it was probated 11 June 1804. He named his wife, Franey, son Daniel, son Jacob, daughter Elizabeth (never married) and daughter Mary, wife of Michael Blind. There is no mention of any relationship or connection to Joseph Pugh. Daniel son of Jacob and Franey was born in 1763, Elizabeth oldest daughter probably born about 1760. Mary second daughter born 1767, a son Isaac was born in 1770 and died in 1798 and son Jacob (III) was born in 1772, m. Margaret Spiggle in 1793.

Abraham, Susanna, and Christine were not Christian Funkhouser's
chidren. Christina , and Susanna were sitsters, and Abraham was a
brother. Jacob Funkhouser Sr. was his father and mother was Verena
(Franey?) Jacob's father was Christian Funkhouser married to Magdalena
Christen. Jacob was born in Trub Berne Switzerland in 1705. If you
