Individual:
Joseph Royal (Joroyal) served in the militia, Roebuck`s Regiment, in the Revolutionary War. Bobby G. Moss records him in his ROSTER OF SOUTH CAROLINA PATRIOTS IN THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. His account # is AA297. Joroyal is buried in Barnett Cemetery, Cedar Springs Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC. His tombstone reads: Joseph Royal Barnett Pvt SC Militia Rev War, Oct 10, 1758-June 6, 1812. Joroyal is listed on the Spartanburg, South Carolina, 1800 Census.
