My father's line stayed in Pa...Marcus Hulings, New Sweden, arrived about 1645 while the oldest Sloan I can trace is James, who fought in the Revolution and by 1800 moved to Armstrong Co where the family remained until my father left in the late 30's. Connecting lines are Jones, Godfrey, Bell, Grier,Kerr, Dougherty, Moyers, Poorman, McGee, Sturges and Steiner. My mother's family settled in the states of Va, NC, TN and Ala. The earliest line is that of William Cocke or Cox who is in Va by 1610. Other surnames: Boone, Wilson,Leatherman, Edmundson, Benge, Hutchins, Newton, Colclough, Balthrop, Parker, Curtis, Allmond, Pearsall, Shearin, McDaniel, Boone, Farmer, Davis, Christian, White, Williams, Grigsby, & Rogers. I am searching for information on any and all of these and those yet to be discovered.
