My maiden name is Stroud and I married a Garrett. We have combined our genealogy data to give to our kids when they are older. My Stroud family is deep rooted in Lenoir County, NC. My mother is a Cermak, her father was the nephew of the later mayor Anton J. Cermak of Chicago that was assasinated in Dade County, FL. They originated from Kladno, Czech, sometimes referred to as Bohemian. The Garretts have roots in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. The Radnis family also came over from Czech, settled in the Cook County Illinois area. This is a dying surname. My husband's maternal side is Gerhart, originating from Germany from what I can tell. I am also researching van Loan and Ries for my sons. Their grandfather was Richard van Loan, and grandmother was Helen Ries. I am not making much progress on these two.
