researcher).

!MARRIAGE (to Sarah Briant): Missouri Marriages to 1850; on-line
database at www.ancestry.com. This record gives the groom's name
as Hosea DANIEL. However, the place of this marriage is the same
county in which 'Hawsey' and Sarah DANIEL were living in 1850 and
1860, and I have been unable to find any 'Hosea' Daniel in the 1850
census (in any state). (1850 census, Scotland County, Missouri, page
121B; 1860 census, Scotland County, Missouri, page 874.)

!This Hawsey DANIEL of Missouri is apparently the son of my
Reuben DANIEL because (1) the 1850 and 1860 census records state
that Hawsey of Missouri was born in Virginia; (2) his age in the 1850
and 1860 census matches exactly the birth date given for Reuben's son
in the Daniel-Estes Family Bible; (3) the first name is somewhat
unusual; and (4) I have been unable to find any other Hawsey DANIEL
in the 1850 census.
