| Elizabeth Suddarth |
!FATHER: Deed from Jaret A. Sudderth to "my daughters" Martha, Elizabeth, and Mary Sudderth; Albemarle County, Virginia; Deed Book 41; page 88 (executed Aug. 2, 1842) (conveying certain personal property, "reserving however the full use and benefit of the property aforesaid, to the said Jaret Sudderth during his natural life"). !This could be the Elizabeth Suddarth, age 48, who married Jacob Schultz, age 75, a blacksmith, on 23 May 1857, in Albemarle County (Albemarle County, Virginia; Marriage Register No. 1.) This couple appears in the 1860 census of Albemarle County as Jacob Shultz, a Blacksmith, age 79 and born in Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth Shultz, age 47 (page 643). They also appear in the 1870 census of Nelson County, Virginia, as Jacob Shultz, age 88, and Elizabeth Shultz, age 58 (page 429B). Or, this could be the Elizabeth Suddarth, age 45, who was living in the household of Phillip Edge Jr. in the 1850 census of Abemarle County (page 268A). One Sarah Suddarth, age 28, was also living in the Edge household in 1850, listed immediately after Elizabeth. This is probably NOT the Elizabeth Suddarth, age 40, who was living in the home of Jacob and Martha Drumheller (along with Sarah Suddarth, age 35), in the 1850 census of Albemarle County (page 273B). This Martha was a daughter of Tandy Suddarth, so Elizabeth and Sarah are more likely also daughters of Tandy (Albemarle County Marriages, 1780- 1853; by John Vogt & T. William Kethley, Jr.; vol. I; page 95). |
