Notes
Individual:
!DEATH DATE/PLACE: Bill of complaint; William Golding vs.

Henry Wayland; Library of Virginia; Orange County Chancery
Causes; Reel #684; Index #1817-001 (indicating that the plaintiff
and John Bell had been joint grantees on a deed in February 1804,
and that Bell had died before the complaint was filed in May 1809).
That the William Golding in this suit is the same Wm. Golding who
was brother-in-law of this John Bell is indicated by the fact that
the plaintiff died between the filing of the complaint and the
resolution of the suit in 1817. The Wm. Golding who was brother-
in-law of this John Bell died in 1811. That the John Bell in this suit
is the same John Bell who was a son of William Bell and brother-in-
law of William Golding is indicated by the Answer of Henry Wayland
in the same suit, which states that certain land formerly owned by
William Bell had descended to John Bell and Wm. Golding upon the
death of Wm. Bell.

!SPOUSE (first name): Answer of Elizabeth Bell in the above-
cited lawsuit (stating that Elizabeth is widow of John Bell, and
thus claims an interest in the subject land).
