!Birth date is based on the facts that (1) he needed a guardian to sue
in 1801 (and therefore was born no earlier than 1780), and (2) he
apparently signed a petition as a child on November 10, 1787 (and
therefore had to have been at least about seven years old at that time).

!This Edmund Daniel may be the Edmund Daniel, age 66 and born in
Virginia, who is listed with his wife, Frances, age 53 and born in
Virginia, in the 1850 census for Monroe County, Missouri (page 124).
Besides the matches on the first name, last name, state of birth, and
approximate year of birth, there are the facts that (1) one of the sons
in the Missouri family had the first name "Thompson" and "my"
Edmond Daniel had a brother named Thomson or Tomson, and
(2) one Braxton POLLARD (b. Ky.) and his wife, Sarah (b. Va.), were
living five houses away from the Missouri family in 1850, and "my"
Edmund's oldest brother, Reuben, had married an Elizabeth POLLARD
in Spotsylvania Co., Va., in 1789 (see notes under Reuben). The
Edmund Daniel of Missouri was apparently living in Madison County,
Kentucky, in 1820 (page 138) and in Garrard County, Kentucky, in 1830
(page 250); and he had apparently died before 1860, by which time his
family was living in Dallas County, Texas (page 303). A family Bible
purportedly belonging to this Edmund Daniel is said to state that he
married Frances HERNDON in Madison County, Ky., in 1818.
