The International Genealogical Index of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints gives a birthdate of November 1827 for Noah Rife.
That is the date given in the 1900 census. His gravestone, however,
gives a birth date of 15 Nov 1828, and that date is consistent with his
age in several other census years.
According to the deposition of his brother-in-law, Allen May, in the case
of May's Executor v. May, Noah Rife was insolvent and bankrupt in
September of 1871.
