in the home of M.F. Clarke). This record says she was "single."

Virginia; page 832 (yields birth date of about 1853).
!DEATH DATE/PLACE: Personal knowledge of Van Wallace KIRBY,
a nephew of Elizabeth TAYLOR (as reflected in a notebook of genealogy
kept by Van Wallace KIRBY).
!Family tradition states that Bettie never married; and no record of a
marriage has appeared. However, the "certificate to obtain a marriage
license" of Bettie's daughter, Maggie, gives the name of Maggie's parents
as "R.F. and Bettie." Since Bettie's mother was a TAYLOR and her
father is unknown, R.F. could be either the first and middle or the first
and last initials of Maggie's father.
