Individual:
John Cook came to America about 1879. He settled in Otoe county, NE and moved to Cheyenne co
unty, KS in 1886.
The nine sons of John and Theresia were all ball players and formed their own ball tea m - Cook Brothers. From reports in the newspapers of the day, they were a pretty good team and hard to beat. Several years later, on a Memorial Day week-end, the original Cook Brothers team gathered together at the family farm and the Daddies played the Sons. The score was even until the last half
of the ninth when the Daddies spanked their sons to the tune of 11 to 10.
