*** 1900 Census said Emaline had 12 children, 9 living. The last two listed on my records had not been born yet so they could not count in this total. That only left 11 I had listed for her up to this point, so I added 1 unknown gender. Therefore, since we have HG, Felix, Marina, Ben, M L, Jincy, John B...and James in a different houshold all living at this time....my belief is 3 out of the 4....SA, Julie, Asa and unknown had died before 1900.
***** See email from Gary Sanders 4/3/2007 - children? birthdate?
***** Another email from Terry Lee 4/4/2007 I haven't looked at this in a long time. Below is what I have. Regarding 1870 census records - many people were displaced by the Civil War; the records are in poor condition; and many census takers in Alabama did not do a good job of canvasing.
