In The Antioch Primitive Baptist Church (of Scott Co., MS) minutes of the church, A.H. Saxon presented his letter and was received intofellowship on March 15, 1873. On September 20, 1879 he was granted aletter of dismission from Antioch.

"This community was shocked by the sudden death of Mr. A. H. Saxon. He has lived in Yazoo county for a number of years and was aveteran of the civil war
of 1861-5. He was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist church. His
remains were interred Tuesday at Shiloh at 2 o'clock. Mr. Saxon was 77 years of
age. He leaves a number of sons and daughters, a loving wife and 75 grand
children and great grand children to mourn his death. Grieve not dear ones for
your loss is his gain. His race is run and his work on earth is done and the
Lord has called him home.

Deceased was a brother of Mr. Wm. Saxon, who lives on Route 1 in Scott
county. He is now 70 years old and is the last of the living children of a
family of thirteen."
