Handwritten Obituary in the possession of W. Richard Shindle:
Abraham Huffman, one of the oldest and most substantial United
Brethren in the East, died at his home near Mt. Zion, Augusta Co, Va.
after a short illness on March 30, 1893, aged 72 years, 11 months and
10 days. He was converted in early boyhood at his father's house
preaching places under the preaching of faith of the church, many of
whom he knew personally. from his conversion he was all active worker
and grew with the passing years, broadening and widening in his
Christian syn(?) --- this to the last, --- being a warm hearted
Sunday School Superintendent. His house was the preacher's house for
more than half a century. he died at a ripe age, full of good works.
He leaves three daughters all earnest --- Christians, and two
grandsons in the ministry, Rev. A. M. Horn, and A. S. Hammack, both in
the Virginia Conference.
