A Henry H. HOLMES appears as head of household in Cazenovia, Madison, New York, USA in the 1830 federal census, but it seems unlikely that this is the same Henry HOLMES. Household is 0000100010000-0000100000000. Taken at face value, for this to be Henry, we would have to assume he had another wife prior to and older than Louisa and that the older male in the household either was not Henry's father, or that he was his father but the Grace HOLMES buried in Poolville was not Henry's mother, or that he was his father and Grace was his mother but she was for some reason not in her husband's household that year. In any case the middle initial H and the residence in Cazenovia are not confirmed by any other sources yet found.
Moved to Saratoga Co. in 1846 (Henry transferred from Mt. Vernon Glass Works to Mt. Pleasant factory).
