Sorry it's been awhile but lot's been happening.

Just got back from a trip to New Hampshire and I've got some info I know you'll like. The following taken from the Coos County Democrat from January 12, 1921. The Democrat is a weekly paper published in Lancaster, NH.

DIED AT WHITEFIELD

The death of Mary Elizabeth Currier occured [sic] at the Morrison Hospital on Jan. 11, 1921. Mrs. Currier was the daughter of Alexander and Mary Stark Kinloch, born in Glasgow, Scotland, March 7, 1831. She was united in marriage to Benjamin F. Currier on Aug. 7, 1852. Seven children were born to them, Alfred C. of Whitefield (deceased), Mrs. John Taylor, Mrs. Frank Adams of Troy, N.Y., Mrs. David Clark of New York City, Benjamin F. Jr. of Brainard Sta. N.Y., A. E. Currier of Poughkeepsie, N.Q. [sic] and Mrs. Thos. Stevens of Whiteeld. [sic] Twenty-seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. During the past few years Mrs. Currier has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. T. S. Stevens, where she was tenderly cared for by both her daughter and her husband. "Grandma" Currier, as she was called by friends and neighbors on the Highlands, will be missed, as she always greeted them with kind words and pleasant smile.
The funeral was held at the Stevens home on Terrace street, Wednesday evening, Jan. 12, at 7 o'clock. Rev. Guy Roberts, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. The body was taken the following morning to Troy, N.Y. for burial, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Clark, and granddaughter, Mrs. Anna Fernald, both of New York City.

I got this from Microfilm at Weeks Memorial Library in Lancaster. I was up visiting family over the 4th of July week. I had asked my father if he knew of a Whitefield paper that might have an obituary. He said that the Democrat has always covered all of Coos County in northern NH and that they should have any obits. I went to the Democrat office and they sent me to the library. I have a printed copy of the article - I can scan it and send it to you if you'd like. This confirms the information I had about Alexander Kinloch being Mary's father. Now it should be relatively easy to start tracing the Kinloch family back in Scotland.

Also while I was up north I went to the Mount Ida Cemetary in Troy and found Benjamin F.'s and Mary's graves. The cemetary is very old and not kept up very well but their stones are in pretty good shape (though they had been tipped over - I straightened them as best I could. If you ever go, their graves are toward the back of the cemetary on the right center.

If you are planning to go to the cemetary, from I-90 (I'm assuming you are
coming in from Syracuse) turn north on I-87. Take exit 6 onto State Road 2
east. You'll go through Watervliet, over I-787 and the Hudson River, then
under a tunnel. I left my map behind so I don't remember the name of the
street you turn on but I do remember that it is just a few blocks past a AAA
office. There is a traffic light, and just beyond the turn there is a
convenience store. After the turn you will cross over a bridge - there is a
Gatehouse on the left and the entrance into the cemetary just to the right
of that building. I'll warn you, the paths through the cemetary are very
rough. Go in - take the first path to the right - follow that to the last
path to the left - go toward the rear of the cemetary - they will be toward
the back on the left of the path in front of a large evergreen tree. (My
memory is not that good but that will at least get you close.). Hope you
find it okay..
Family information in death record is badly garbled (listed father was her father in law, etc.) but no reason to doubt her family was from Glasgow, Scotland and her mother was Mary STARK.
