Individual:
Eleven children.
Wife Lucretia; children Jabez, Elisha, Samuel, Nathan, Prudence:
Wife Lucretia BILL; children Jabez, Elisha, John, Samuel, Nathan, Sarah, Lucretia, Abby, Mary, Anna, and Prudence:
Baker says "probably the son of Elisha Holmes and Sarah Bartlett, daughter of Joseph Bartlett of Plymouth, Mass.", but according to Robert L. Ward the will of this Elisha names all his children, living and deceased, and the list does not include a Samuel.
Identified with the Samuel who was son of Elisha HOLMES of Plymouth (who was son of the above Elisha and also married a Sarah BARTLETT, this one a daughter of Samuel BARTLETT).
This identification is assumed to be correct, although I know of no documentation; but this assumption is supported by approximate birthdate match; children's names Jabez, Elisha, John, Sarah, and Mary, which all occur in Elisha's family; and Jabez's naming a child Bartlett.p. 329p. 329p. 833p. 329p. 329p. 833
"In the 52nd yr of my age - my wordly [sic] estate very small 11 children, gives it all to his wife to provide for the small children and for daughter Prudence who is incapacitated to help herself. 39 pounds."
Will recorded in New London.
