Source Text: This source is very old and was handwritten by LEWIS LINEBARGER. It was among the possessions of his daughter, VIRGINIA [LINEBARGER] GILMOUR at the time of her death in 1914 which were passed on to her daughter [who was my great Aunt] MAUD GILMOUR. This hand written record indicates that DELILAH LINEBARGER was married to JOHN Q. ADAMS on 26 January 1865. This record was passed on to me by my great Aunt MAUD GILMOUR prior to the time of her death in 1968. Aunt MAUD obtained it from her mother, VIRGINIA LINEBARGER, daughter of LEWIS LINEBARGER and JANE HENDERSON and sister of DELILAH LINEBARGER.

Previous unverifiable information indicated that she died before 1920 in Merced County which is adjacent to Stanislaus County. Her age of 82 corresponds with the 1900 Census report which indicates that she was born in January 1842.
