Source Text: According to the records of my great Aunt MAUD GILMOUR, her aunt MARTHA ANN [GILMOUR} Kirkendall was born in Hancock County, Illinois in November 1850. The GILMOUR family lived near La Harpe in Hancock County at that time and in about April of the following year sold their farm, packed their belongings into covered wagons and headed for the Oregon Trail and west to Oregon.
