DUNCAN is among the old practicioners of Shelby County. He was born in Parke City, Indiana in 1826. His parents, NATHAN and ELIZABETH LAVINA DUNCAN, were natives of North Carolina. They emigrated to Indiana about 1820, and remained in that state until 1834 when they removed to Macoupin County, Illinois and settled near Clyde where NATHAN DUNCAN still lives.
